Why Heritage Village was Created?

It was about 20 years ago that Larry Ryan, purchased a home in a 55 “plus” community in Arizona.  Why did he choose to live there?  He had friends that lived there in ranch style homes that had no stairs. He could tell that the owners of the community cared how things looked and made sure everything was just right.  It was a safe community with many folks who lived there seasonally.  A large lawn was not what he was looking for, but he sure enjoyed the orange trees in his back yard.  He shared stories among his neighbors of his travels, his family and yes, what medication each person was taking and who were the best doctors in the area.  He was active and on the go!  He joined civic groups and loved the local golf course.  If there was a good restaurant within 30 miles, he knew about it.

He thought this was a great concept and there was no community in the area that was designed for active “mature” adults.  As an innovator in the manufactured housing industry since 1968, he decided it was time to bring this idea to Wisconsin.

He founded Heritage Village with these thoughts in mind:

Active adults wanted:

  • A home, not an apartment.

  • An attached garage so you could unload groceries without struggling with stairs or bad weather.  A yard you could call your own and if you choose, have someone else mow your lawn, fertilize your grass and plants and shovel the snow off your driveway and sidewalk.

  • A place where he could be active, yet not be burdened with upkeep and maintenance.

  • A home and lifestyle that he could afford comfortably.

  • An environment that was safe and that, if there were an emergency, someone would respond quickly.

  • Neighbors who weren't rock musicians and who didn't have children prone to skateboarding or riding their ten-speed bikes in the path of his daily walks.

  • And, most important, he wanted some assurance that the community in which he lived would always maintain its standards.

He knew that they deserved to have these things. After all, they worked hard, they went to war, they raised their children, they stayed out of trouble, paid their bills and they had made their contribution to society. It was time for them to relax and enjoy life. Yet, where could they go without compromising their lifestyle and their pocketbook?

At Heritage Village, you will find safe, quiet, and friendly neighborhoods with plenty of fresh air, beautiful sunsets, and acres of land for healthy walks and private streets for that leisurely bike ride. You will have caring neighbors who are quick to laugh and quick to share. Equally important, you will find that someone is always there to lend a helping hand when you need one. Plus, you can choose to have someone else cut your grass and shovel the snow.  Now you will have plenty of free time to do all of those things you've always wanted to do.

At Heritage Village you can live in a brand new ranch home: no stairs to climb, and no elevators to wait for. You will enjoy the convenience of an oversized attached garage with plenty of room for storage, a front porch for sharing a cup of coffee and good conversation with friends, and a private patio for relaxing barbecues or that morning cup of coffee in your robe.

This is the lifestyle you will find at Heritage Village. You can design your new home to meet your personal tastes and needs. We offer the highest quality construction, name brand appliances and oak cabinets, a fully landscaped home site, and a wide range of luxury upgrades.

Heritage Village will improve the quality of your life – at an affordable price. It is a community of people with interests and experiences similar to your own. It provides services with on-site management that will give you the peace of mind you deserve.

For all these reasons, Heritage Village was born. It was conceived and designed to meet the changing needs of people like Larry Ryan - - and, perhaps, people like you.
